Resuming Life(ish)

Happy Wise Well is back in 2020 and will try to make sense of the biggest thing this pandemic has shown us the value of: our health.

We all witnessed COVID-19 grind the globe to a halt in one fell swoop and in an instant, our lives were changed beyond recognition.  Things we thought we’d never do, things we thought we’d never say – suddenly became commonplace.  And the biggest motivator for these drastic changes?  Not fines, not jail sentences.  It has been, and continues to be our health.  Whether it was protecting our own health or that of others, it has driven incredible commitment in the face of uncertainty and turmoil around the world.  And as lockdowns are lifted and we pick up the pieces of our lives, many of us have to contend with our new, unwanted reality: COVID-19 has not gone away.

So what does being healthy look like in 2020?  How do we get back a sense of balance whilst also keeping our foe at bay?

I’m afraid it’s not just kale smoothies round here any more. Happy Wise Well will be looking at the deeper elements of health and wellbeing, making sense of the wider context of the pandemic on our minds and bodies, and shining a focus on health inequalities as we move forward together and lockdown is lifted. I’m proud to have produced guidance on coming out of lockdown safely, which I’ll be sharing on the website and via social media in the days ahead.
